Cian O’Connor wins Basel Grand Prix

 Cian O’Connor riding “Rancorrado” took the 37,000 euros first place at the CSI 4* in Basel today (17th January).

 Only four riders from the starting field of forty-five, made it through to the jump-off round. Although Cian incurred one time fault, he was the only rider in the final round to incur no jumping faults. Gerco Schröder with “Eurocommerce New Orleans” took 2nd place on 4 faults and Steve Guerdat with “Ferrari” also with 4 faults but in a slower time, took 3rd. Fellow Irish rider Denis Lynch, riding “Nabab’s Son” was placed 4th in the Grand Prix.

Cian O’Connor also took the award for the show’s leading rider.
