West Leinster Region Gear up for Camelot Awards

The West Leinster region are set to hold their inaugural regional awards, “The Camelots”, on Saturday the 23rd January. The event, which takes place at Killashee House Hotel Naas, will be the first of its kind in the region and the first social outing of 2010 for clubs. The evening will include a buffet dinner, presentation of the prizes from the recent JP Moore Consulting Autumn dressage and show jumping leagues as well as the Oscars style presentation of the Camelots.

Clubs in the region were recently invited to nominate who they felt was deserving of an award in several categories including ‘Horse of the Year’, ‘Member of The Year’, ‘Person of the Year’, ‘Club of the Year’, ‘Secretary of the Year’, Volunteer of the Year’, ‘Rider of the Year’ and ‘Most Improved Rider’. There will also be an award for ‘Dog of the Year’ which will have two categories – ‘Big Dog’ and ‘Small Dog’. ’Dog of the Year’  has been sponsored by Gain Dog Feeds. Gain recently addded a line of ‘Big Dog’ products to their range, which are specifically designed for the needs of dogs over 20kg, and felt it was appropriate to sponsor this category. In true Oscar style, no one except the regional committee will know the winners until the night itself!

The evening will also give regional members the chance to remember and pay tribute to their friend and former treasurer, Linda Moore. Linda sadly passed away in December having lost her battle against cancer. Linda had a huge presence in the region through her work with the committee and was known for her winning smile and infectious laugh.

Regional members wishing to attend the event can book ticket by contacting their club secretary before Thursday the 14th January
