Product Review – Copa Poly OF

Copa describe Poly Of as a “Complimentary yeast based feed additive solution enriched with wheat germ oil and lecithin. Enables your horse to thrive, grow and be fit and healthy”

I actually started using this product over a year ago when I won a free bottle in a competition. I figured what the harm and fed it to my mare to see if it made any difference. I have not stopped using it since.

My mare is by nature an anxious animal and would typically refuse to eat before or after a show. She would sweat quite a bit when ridden or when travelling which would lead to weight loss and the appearance of being ‘run up’. She would also go off her food whenever she was ill – at one point when she was sick I was reduced to syringing vitamin and iron supplements into her to keep her strength up. To keep her eating I used to feed aromatic herbs but still struggled to keep her weight up in Winter and to stop her losing weight if it was warm in Summer. Whenever she was a good weight I would worry as I knew how quickly she could develop the greyhound appearance.

My horse is now 24 and is on Poly Of full time. It is well worth the price and the bottle lasts me at least a month. She eats up her food every morning and evening without issue and touch wood has not once been off her food in a long time. Her muscle tone and condition have greatly improved particularly in her neck and her hindquarters. If she does work hard or compete while she sweats up she has a much quicker recovery and no longer refuses to eat afterwards or ends up losing weight and suffering dry dehydrated skin. I have received so many compliments on how she is looking especially for a horse of her age. I have since recommended this product to friends and used it successfully on other horses.

My horse is also fed Copa Liquiflex daily. I had used other supplements containins glucosamine and Chrondritin in the past but not with the same effect as this. After suffering a fractured hind leg years ago as well as a previous issue with her knee she would often come out of the stable quite stiff and take a while to loosen up.  She was also difficult to engage behind and work effectively.  After spending the last year on liquiflex she not tries to trot off as soon as I get up on her! She is no long stiff and is much happier, liquiflex helps her to continue enjoying her work.
