Cian O’Connor Makes a Young Fan’s Day
This was a very memorable week for one young Kildare rider. Sadhbh Clancy got the surprise opportunity to meet her favourite show jumper this week at the Chippson Grand Prix at Kill International Equestrian Centre. Eleven year old Sadhbh takes riding lessons at Toberton Lodge stables in Johnstown, Co. Kildare. Sadhbh lives in Craddockstown in Naas and is a huge fan of Cian O’Connor.
Sadhbh was introduced to Cian and chestnut horse Splendor at Kill by Toberton Lodge owner Mary Kane at the fourth leg of the Chippison Grand Prix on the 14th March. Cian went on to win the grand prix on the day riding Complete. Cian signed his winning red rosette and passed it on to Mary as a surprise gift to Sadhbh.Sadhbh was over the moon to meet her idol and to receive the winning rosette.
Sadhbh competed herself this week, taking part in the St Patrick’s day show at Kill International. Riding Toberton Lodge’s bay gelding Romany, Sadhbh won the 70cm show jumping class.

What a lovely gesture from Cian.
