CoPa Ireland Season Report by Carla Throughton and Cosmic Rolo
From Carl of CoPa Ireland
Carla Throughton approached CoPa Ireland back in August of 2009 after seeing out stand at the RDS horse show. We were advertising our products under the Holmestead Saddlery shop. I have asked Carla to compile a little synopsis of her season to date and wanted to share this with you all. Cosmic Rolo is currently being supplemented on CoPa Ireland Liquiflex, Performance Plus and Oregano oil and Ginseng.
In Carla’s own words – So this season got off to a great start, staring at Dromiskin, in county Louth. We were in the CNC* class, and the cross country had some very tricky combinations, so very pleased to Jump a fantastic double clear and finished 12th in excellent company, so very happy!
Next event was Tyrella 1 in Downpatrick where he jumped another fantastic double clear, and thanks to the Performance Plus he finished the 6 minute cross country with plenty of running! Definitely helping the stamina, as we had problems with that in the previous season, and it also showed to be working as the rain was so hard I was soaked through when we finished but he kept on galloping! Then off to Tyrella again for the 2nd event there (they run 3 of them), again in the CNC*. Much better weather for this event, but not the Tyrella sunshine we hoped for! But at least it was dry, and the cross country was much stronger than the previous week. Unfortunately we had a slight disagreement about a corner fence after the water fence, partially due to the fact that he never saw the fence until the last moment! So we stopped, but came round and jumped it perfectly the 2nd time! Finished the course and still managed to finish 15th, so not too bad considering I am the youngest in the class!
The final Tyrella event, which was basked in sunshine and was gorgeous! The performance plus really started to work as again we jumped a fantastic double clear and we finished full of running – galloping over the finish line! Very very pleased to finish 8th, especially in a class of professional riders!
Then it was onto Rademon for the young rider class, where we were leading after the dressage and showjumping! Unfortunately we had people standing in the way of a corner fence and I had to make a last minute adjustment so that we didn’t run into them, but was too last minute and resulted in a very confused horse stopping in front of the horse! But when the people moved we jumped it again perfectly, and then flew round the rest of the very strong cross country! In fact, it was so strong that even with the stop we still managed to get placed, so we came 5th! The final event of the spring season was Kircubbin, where we jumped another brilliant double clear and finished 10th!The joint supplement, Liquiflex, has been absolutely fantastic; his legs are always stone cold after an event and no swelling what so ever – even when he has been standing in all night his legs come out like ice – usually they would be slightly puffy!
And the performance plus has worked magic, as it has kept him going fantastically all season – He has never felt so well! He has been working really well on it, and looks fantastic – And since he only gets cool mix and chaff, you can see the effect the performance plus and liquiflex has had on him! This was also a 1.15m parallel – see how well he feels!
