Ballintober Hunter Trials 24th April

The sunny weather did not keep the crowds away from Ballintober Hunter Trials on Easter Sunday, 24th April. A most enjoyable day was had by all competitors and onlookers. Luke and Ian Grace have added some beautiful new jumps to their course including a super water complex which is now rated as one of the finest in the South East. The organisers were delighted with the turnout which was run off with precision, and they wish to thank all the helpers and supporters on the day.

Luke Grace presents the prize to Edward Keating winner of the Open Singles sponsored by Mackey Ireland

There were many accomplished horse and rider combinations on the day but twenty one year old Gusserane rider, Edward Keating, won the admiration of all in attendance, coming first and third in the open singles sponsored by Mackey Ireland. it was just reward for Keating who had five rides on Sunday and the fact that he uses Ballintober Cross Country Course regularly for schooling gave him a little time advantage over his competitors.   By now, he surely knows every inch and shortcut on the track but he hadn’t much to spare over Liam O’Connor (2nd) and Gabriel O’Neill (4th)
